Railways to our Core
At Grand Union we are passionate about Britain’s railways. We are committed to the traditional values of providing a high-quality customer service and a comfortable journey experience at a fair price.

Grand Union is proposing to introduce new rail services during 2027. The one to link Wales and Scotland with a five times a day service between Cardiff and Edinburgh has now been withdrawn due to the political landscape not supporting new services.
Initial plans to re-introduce passenger train services to Marchwood has recently been rejected by the Rail Regulator. However, the issues surrounding the rejection were far from clear and following further meetings with the ORR, a revised and new application to begin services has been submitted.
Previous applications
Grand Union has previously been successful in gaining access rights to operate new trains between Stirling and London Euston, and Carmarthen and London Paddington.
These services will now be operated by First Group under its successful Lumo brand.
