Railways to our Core
At Grand Union we are passionate about Britain’s railways. We are committed to the traditional values of providing a high-quality customer service and a comfortable journey experience at a fair price.

Grand Union is proposing to introduce two new rail services during 2026. One is to link Wales and Scotland with a five times a day service between Cardiff and Edinburgh, and the other is to re-introduce passenger train services to Marchwood on the Fawley branch line alongside Southampton Water. These services would offer an hourly ‘shuttle’ to Southampton with a number of trains going forward to London Waterloo.
Previous applications
Grand Union has previously been successful in gaining access rights to operate new trains between Stirling and London Euston, and Carmarthen and London Paddington.
These services will now be operated by First Group under its successful Lumo brand.
